Loving the plan, started the 32 week beginner 70.3 plan in early Jan with A race coinciding with Cork in August. Been following it to the letter and while I’d be a strong swimmer and cyclist, I’m seeing massive gains in my run having gone from a 1:45 half marathon to running an 18km training run comfortably in z2 at 4:50 average (including 2km warm up and cool down), at the tail end of a 3 week base block! If you’d told me that 6 months ago I’d have laughed at you
I participated in the Philadelphia marathon in PA, USA. It was my first marathon and your plan really helped me through it!
I’m thrilled to start my Ironman journey with you. My training partner fell in love with your plan and will be buying one too
I was looking for a long-term Ironman training plan. Only coach Steve offers such a program (48 weeks, shorter ones are also available). Before purchasing the plan I asked him which plan would be better for me (There are advanced, intermediate, and beginner plans). Steve took the time to understand my fitness level and needs, before recommending a plan (intermediate). He was also very responsive and answered all my questions rapidly and in detail: He not only provides you an answer but also explains why he gave that answer, which is very useful. The plan itself is well thought and the workouts are clearly explained which is important to perform them efficiently.
I highly recommend coach Steve. Knowing that you can count on an expert is highly motivating.
Just a big old thank you for the recent PB in my latest 70.3! Got over a little panic attack in the swim (partly thanks to the advice on the visualisation to help me get my mind in the game – mainly down to me MTFU ;-)) , smashed my bike and held it together for the run! I will be in touch re the next challenge – Ironman Barcelona in 2022!
For me, a triathlon coach is somebody who not only produces training plans and feedback, but one who encourages one to be your best, to reach your true potential, and treats you equally no matter where you are at in the sport be it a beginner or category 1 triathlete. Steven Moody, definitely ticks those boxes. It has been such a great 11 months, that the journey will continue into 2019 to achieve some more goals!
I used Smartendurancesolutions for my 1st full Ironman this year, I can’t recommend Smartendurancesolutions enough, Steven took me from very low levels of fitness to completing an Ironman in a time I had only dreamed of. There is great feedback on all sessions. It is easy to see all sessions have a purpose and tie into the overall plan. Heart-rate controlled sessions, which make it all easier on race day to stay on target in zone and in control. The added advantage of having a coach who is very experienced and accomplished long distance racer, is great for bringing a calming effect, for those times of pre-race panic
I've been doing Olympic and Sprint tri's for a few years and decided to make the step up to 70.3 this year. Coach Steve's training plan is clear, easy to follow and most important, accessible. I was overwhelmed with the idea of building my own plan and found some plans on the interwebs to be very confusing. I love that Coach Steve's plan workouts that repeat week after week while slowly increasing in volume and pace; it makes it very accessible and feels manageable. I'm more fit than ever!
Thanks @SMendursolns for your fantastic help with my Ironman Nice 70.3 Personal Best this year – with your help I exceeded my goals and I’m on track for another PB in 2019.
I’m writing this review as a 3-day old IRONMAN. And I did it with the help of a “46 weeks Beginner Ironman plan”. Before starting the plan I had done sub 4h marathon but I had zero racing or even training experience in swimming and biking. When I was choosing my plan I wrote for several online couches with my questions and I liked Steve’s answers the most. I didn’t regret choosing his plan a single time. Steve answered all the questions that I had during the training, he also adjusted the plan to fit my race day(my race was almost a month earlier than I have planned). The training plan wasn’t easy but what else can you expect when training for Ironman? Be prepared that weekends will be tough but they will make YOU tough as well. I was confident before the race that I will finish it. Thank you, Steve, for making my dream come true!
Was nervous training for my first tri – but emailed Coach with some questions and soon was on his beginner sprint plan – it was much less confusing then – I followed the instructions and get more and more confident as I did – and before I knew it 12 weeks later I was a triathlete! Thanks CS
Used and loved Coach Steve’s 70.3 plan – as not only got me fit and strong but got me that elusive PB … not bad for a guy nearly hitting 50! Age is just a number! Thanks CS
