Steve organised a fantastic weekend, steve along with Mark covered the swim, bike and run courses, advice on transitions, nutrition, fuelling on the go. Plus advice on training on lead up to the event. Couldn't ask for more for a triathlete to newbie Ironman competitor. Have the confidence compete on race day, bring it on!
Thanks for tips on the journey Steve. I couldn’t stick to planned training with life/work, but improvised a little . Oh and got 6th in over 60 age category
70.3 done! And an age group podium to boot (which got bumped up to 2nd in the official results!!!)
The balance of training that allows me to run that fast (for me) off the bike seems like a mystic art!!
Thanks CS
So Coach, the season is now done for me! I completed Outlaw X 70.3 on Sunday in a PB time of 5:13. My previous like for like was 5:36 in June 2019. So 2 years older and 23 minutes faster! Happy with that.
As a first time triathlete, I can definitely recommend the training plans of Steve. Over the last 6 months I’ve tried to do everything myself, but couldn’t see the wood for the trees. Which zone calculator to use? Which sessions actually work? How make sure not to undertrain? How not to overtrain? Steve’s training plans are straightforward and take all that guesswork out of it. Big bonus: the extremely fast responses to emails (24/7 it seems, do you even sleep?!) really help with all the little details that you usually just gloss over and provide even more peace of mind during training. All in all highly recommended!
I was lucky enough to be selected to trial the PB Hit squad with Coach Steve. Initially, I was blown away by the quality/energy of the Zoom calls and have learned a lot in a short time! Based on the direction of CS – I have also switched plans to a much better fit for me and have my HR zones dialed in! Already put in the request for Coach to sign me up post-trial – I need this to get through my first Ironman!
Great plan
Great feedback – good understanding of my needs-should have done this years ago. Would highly recommend
Coach Steve and i started to work at the end of 2018. In May 2019 i finshed my first 70.3, i was surprised how well prepared i have been. In September i finished another 70.3, smashed my PB on one of the hardest courses on IM 70.3 calendar. Never in my life was i so fit and strong, this was by far best race ever. Now we are getting ready for full distance!
Steve is great coach, very responsive, always ready for good advice and guidance and always taking care of his athletes!
Had to start from scratch in my triathlon career andCS was recommended to me by a friend. He has been awesome from start to finish – "No such thing as a stupid question – unless you ask it too late" to quote the man himself … he is patient, detail-focused and seems to give a shit! I already have completed my first sprint and standard distances and am thinking long next year… all possible due to CS – thank you so much (p.s. I also beat the friend who recommended CS to me – first time ever)
The PBhitsquad Zooms are great. I will learn a lot over these next few months so thank you very much for that.
I found Steve’s plans on Training Peaks as I was looking for an experienced and quality coach after signing up to my first Ironman. I was delighted the level of service I received. The amount of detail he included was exactly what I was looking for. Its extremely comprehensive and nothing is left to chance. He was very responsive and attentive (I had about a million questions), with nothing being too much trouble. Training went to plan and I was delighted with the time I achieved. Thanks Steve!
I approached Coach Steve from Smartendurancesolutions back in September, as I wanted to have a second opinion on how structured marathon training would work for me – so I bought his advanced marathon plan. From the beginning Coach Steve was very friendly and answered lightning fast all the questions I had- although I’m a decent runner with a pb of 2:51 on the marathon – regardless the question, he was there with a good advice or a joke 😉. Truth is that for those 35 usd paid on the plan you just get more then that – so once this marathon plan is completed, I’ll continue working with Steve on my next goal – sub 10h IM (currently sitting at 10h, with a pb of 10:01 and several other around 10:15). Bottom line – I’m very happy with the choice I made and can’t recommend Smartendurancesolutions enough.
