First Olympic distance race is in the books and it was a success! …. Thank you Coach Steve for your plans and support, it made a huge difference and in many ways! Off to the next Olympic race and then start getting prepared for Ironman next year — with Coach Steve of course!
I want to let you know that my son, CJ Hoff, finished his Ironman Wisconsin last weekend. It was brutally cold and wet. Rained all day. He used your beginning plan, originally supposed to be for Texas but had to move to Wisconsin.
He is 18 and this was his first triathlon. He will be heading to Boot camp for the Marines on Monday. The training was a great success and perfect for getting him ready for the military. Thank you!
Happy new week! I wanted to share I took part in my first Olympic triathlon last week and got 3rd place in my age group. More importantly, is that I felt strong and comfortable during the event which was my goal! The placing was an added bonus
Being able to swim, bike and run, albeit for really short distances, I signed up for IM Ireland giving myself 8 months of training with a plan from Steve starting mind January.
Of all the items used during training and on race day Steve’s plan was one that gave me a huge return on investment over everything else. Without it I would have been training blind and I am confident I would not have completed the day.

A huge thanks to Coach Steve for his 40 week IM program. The pace of progression was ideal. It really helped to minimise injury and took me to the best shape of my life. Steve's help and enthusiasm when I had questions made me feel like I was always supported. The result was that I felt like I was 'racing' rather than simply dragging myself to the finish. I used Smartendurancesolutions for my 1st full Ironman this year, I can’t recommend Smartendurancesolutions enough, Steven took me from very low levels of fitness to completing an Ironman in a time I had only dreamed of. There is great feedback on all sessions. It is easy to see all sessions have a purpose and tie into the overall plan. Heart-rate controlled sessions, which make it all easier on race day to stay on target in zone and in control. The added advantage of having a coach who is very experienced and accomplished long distance racer, is great for bringing a calming effect, for those times of pre-race panic

Just wanted to say thanks for your advanced Oly training program I enjoyed it and used it for my race this weekend (1500 m lake / 28 mi bike / 10 K run). Fun getting back into it, even if a little more effort beating the “young bucks” now that I am 50 years young/old!

Just finishing up your 8 week triathlon specific S&C plan – in previous seasons I always tended to end up injured when the running volume built up due to weak claves … but this year – before the real intense stuff starts – must admit I am feeling almost bullet proof – thank you Coach S
I recently decided after completing a few marathons and the odd triathlon that I wanted to take on the challenge of a full Ironman. Knowing I needed a structured training programme I began to research the many training programmes available online and spoke to others who have previously done these events. The name that kept coming up was Steve Moody and Training Peaks. The variety of programmes, designed for all levels are second to none. Given the commitment and discipline required the programmes are not mundane, sessions are varied and really well constructed. However, above all else, having Steve’s input and help is the biggest benefit, along with his encouragement and reassurance he’s always just an email away and he always responds swiftly. Overall, although slightly daunted by the prospect of tackling my first Ironman I couldn’t be happier having Steve and Training Peaks helping me along the way. In a nutshell I couldn’t recommend Steve and Training Peaks highly enough.
Thanks for tips on the journey Steve. I couldn’t stick to planned training with life/work, but improvised a little . Oh and got 6th in over 60 age category
I appreciate your program. I felt like your training worked really well for me as well as how you set things up in Training Peaks, it was great to have trust in the HR zones and see the progression. The last Triathlon I did was in 2012, California 70.3 which I finished in 5:40. A decade later, I finished Florida 70.3 in 5:32, a new PR!
