Just a quick note to say thank you very much for your training plan and advices.
I completed IM Barcelona on 3 October. I’m sure you’ve heard that the swim was cut short which was a pity. However, it was the toughest swim I have ever done. The bike proved harder than expected because of a head wind. I had been hoping for a 6 hour bike but did it in 6.30. The run went as well as I could have expected as I knocked about 20 minutes or so off my previous time.
Happy return to racing yesterday at the Nottingham Outlaw Half!
5 weeks ago I was seriously doubting my ability to finish, and started looking ahead to my A race – Weymouth 70.3 in September. With a little help from Smart Endurance Solutions in adapting a newly purchased plan (for Weymouth) in order to get me to the start line yesterday I managed to surpass my expectations of the day and finished the half marathon super strong! Since we teamed up your coaching and advice has made a major difference & improvement to my training. Your analysis has highlighted instances where I was overtraining, brought a focus and rationale to training in the correct HR zones which has developed my endurance. Your coaching has also introduced proper periodization to my training. Crucially having you coaching me has taken away the usual second guessing that goes with setting one’s own training schedule. On the journey I have found that you listened well to my particular circumstances and been flexible and adaptive to suit my busy worklife. TrainingPeaks played a key role here also allowing me to lay out my work commitments in advance and you could tailor the training load and schedule to fit.

I am delighted to inform that I crossed the 70.3 Weymouth finish line in my personal best of 7 hrs 21 mins and 11 seconds.
I am really happy with the result, your training plan helped. All in all, a very satisfying result. And also a demonstration that I can push more and look to bring that time to sub 7.
I enlisted the help of Coach Steven to provide a comprehensive and structured training plan and improve my overall performance, he exceeded all my expectations! Coach Steven used Training Peaks to plan my sessions and monitor my progress, I found this hugely beneficial as it allowed me to track my improvement on-line. In addition, Coach Steven was very responsive to any queries I had. His experience of competing at multiple Ironman events proved invaluable. Within six months of enlisting Coach Steven’s services, I recorded PB’s at Sprint, Olympic and Half Ironman distances. I’m delighted to be working with Steven for another season, I cannot recommend him highly enough.
This was the perfect plan for me – kept me motivated and focused during the off season (polite way of not saying COVID!) – actually saw some decent gains in my FTP and run pace which was a nice bonus … and thanks to Steve for helping me pick the best plan for my actual race- roll on Sept!
Just completed the 70.3 and Ironman Cork training weekend. An excellent course with good information on how an ironman event works, what to expect on the day and nutritional info. Also guided swim plus guided cycle of the full 90km route and run route. Would definitely recommend for any ironman newbies or anyone wishing a race reckkie

program from you with the intention of running the Cork city marathon.
Sad as I was that the race was canceled a few weeks into training I
decided to keep going with the intention of running the marathon
the distance on the day of the race regardless.
I decided to run a marathon a week early on Sunday just passed. Having
never ran a marathon I wasn’t sure what time I would be able to achieve
and set a goal of sub 3:15. Feeling good on the day I pushed on and
finished in a time of 3:06:35.
I followed your program never missing a session other than having to
cut a week out towards the end. I found it extremely helpful and
informative and would never have achieved my time or managed to stay
injury-free without it. I would certainly recommend you to others and
hopefully will use more programs from you in the future.”
I’ve been working with Coach Steven as my coach since late 2015. He’s has a great flexibility to his approach which really suits any Athlete’s personal circumstances. Since he has been my coach I have achieved a number of personal bests at various distances, also I’ve learn’t a lot about the sport outside of the day to day training, understanding what to eat prior to a race, also how to prepare myself physically & mentally on race day.

Just wanted to drop a note to say really i’ve enjoyed the first 2 weeks. Great program that really suits me. Just need to start understanding the numbers during the first recovery week and see the improvements.
