Very grateful to Steve for the 70.3 beginner 30 week plan, tailored to my desire to improve my swimming while also getting ready for my first 70.3 race in August. It seems to be very comprehensive, i’ve gone for the heart rate option, and really appreciate Steve’s availability by email to answer queries, tweak plan etc. Fantastic value for money. I’ll be adding on his S&C sessions to it which are designed to integrate naturally. Set my start date for mid January so good motivation for the NY.
On week 2 of the training and loving it, definitely feeling an improvement and know that my goal will be reached by the end of the plan. Also had a couple of questions in the beginning like most people do when starting a new plan and my questions were answered instantly which was great
I just thought I would drop you a line to say thank you for your help in the build-up to my first Ironman. It was a big big help having a structured plan to follow and it’s been a massive learning curve these last twelve months.
So I actually finished the damn thing, amazing really!!, was doubting myself a bit at the start line but I had a FANTASTIC day in Barcelona. It was an experience I think I will remember forever, and I enjoyed it so much I reckon I’m going back next year!!! 🙂 I’ve been well and truly bitten by the tri bug.
Completed the Ironman training camp last weekend in Youghal with Steve and would highly recommend! Great info and course specific knowledge learned during the camp. If thinking of doing an Ironman would recommend Steve’s training camp. Thanks again see you in August! Dave
Coach Steve had the job of mentoring & preparing me for the IM Cork and a half-distance event in Galway.
Without his guidance/tips and tricks, I would not have got on as well as I did.
His humor/patience / experience were all vital and helped get me and also many others through the day”
Since we teamed up your coaching and advice has made a major difference & improvement to my training. Your analysis has highlighted instances where I was overtraining, brought a focus and rationale to training in the correct HR zones which has developed my endurance. Your coaching has also introduced proper periodization to my training. Crucially having you coaching me has taken away the usual second guessing that goes with setting one’s own training schedule. On the journey I have found that you listened well to my particular circumstances and been flexible and adaptive to suit my busy worklife. TrainingPeaks played a key role here also allowing me to lay out my work commitments in advance and you could tailor the training load and schedule to fit.
So thank you very much for the 2016 season and I look forward to working together again in 2017
Steve has been nothing short of brilliant. The initial consultation was thorough which gave me utter confidence in choosing the right plan. The plan itself was incredibly easy to follow with plenty of reading to keep me well informed. This all gave me the perfect springboard to smash my PB at the 70.3 distance. I felt strong and well-rested, which was all down to the plan allowing me to be race-ready. I'd highly recommend Steve for your plan. Thank you, Steve, you hero. ++
I have known Steven for a number of years and have been deeply impressed by his enthusiasm and effective efforts to promote the appreciation and understanding of the sport of Triathlon. Combined with his own experiences, interest in technology and new up to date training techniques & ideas, I decided to engage with Steven as my coach 2 years ago. Given my own experiences and while doubting the methods/sessions at times, “trust the plan”, his focus and commitment has kept me in check to successfully achieve my personal goals. As a partnership, it works and can only recommend anybody thinking about being successful in triathlon, to take on Steven as a coach!
Just a quick note… I am very happy with the plan and its workouts … [Advanced IRONMAN 44 week plan]
Delighted with my recent half-marathon result considering the lead-in and the lack of speed sessions
I really enjoyed the structure and I’ve already bought one of your 20-week plans for the Dublin marathon so that starts mid-June
I appreciate your program. I felt like your training worked really well for me as well as how you set things up in Training Peaks, it was great to have trust in the HR zones and see the progression. The last Triathlon I did was in 2012, California 70.3 which I finished in 5:40. A decade later, I finished Florida 70.3 in 5:32, a new PR!
Very attentive and interested in my progress while being realistic about adjustments needed around life happening – provided good structure and focus then backed it up with accountability
