This was the perfect plan for me – kept me motivated and focused during the off season (polite way of not saying COVID!) – actually saw some decent gains in my FTP and run pace which was a nice bonus … and thanks to Steve for helping me pick the best plan for my actual race- roll on Sept!
I completed FULL DISTANCE HALF DISTANCE Muncie this past weekend. It was a big success (for me) my first completion under my belt.
The HALF DISTANCE training plan from Steve was brilliant and was key to completing my first HALF DISTANCE. The balance of set training days alongside rest was perfectly balanced and fitted my family/work life without much stress. Steve was great at answering my e-mailed questions almost immediately and I have already been in touch to discuss my next plan for an FULL DISTANCE Full which shows how good Steve and his plans are! Highly recommend to anyone starting their Triathlon journey!
Having reached a plateau, it niggled that I hadn’t reached my full potential but felt it a bit pretentious engaging a coach as a middle-aged back of pack female. At initial meeting, Steve seemed just as interested in helping me reach my goals as somebody trying to get to Kona. Rapid feedback after each session means that I have had almost 100% consistency in training & the constant cycle of session & feedback has ingrained good habits. To my delight, mid-50s, I’m now stronger, fitter & faster
I purchased a plan on TrainingPeaks from Steve for my first FULL DISTANCE race coming up later this year and so far am very impressed with its structure, variety, and detail.
Steve has also been very quick to respond to any queries or questions I have.
I will definitely be recommending him to friends looking for good quality, structured coaching
The IM plan that I had previously was great – got me through IMNZ in March, taking over an hour off my previous time. This year I went for the intermediate plan rather than a beginner to use the additional swimming and riding to make up for the run. All in all, really happy with the outcome.
The weekly zoom meetings with Coach Steve & other triathletes, hearing about their races & training has taken some of the stress away, the information & advice is spot on. Thanks, Coach Steve for your support.
I have been using Coach Steve’s maintenance and race prep plans for 9 months. The plans have been great: easy to follow, clear progression and enjoyable. The icing on the cake has been the quick and thoughtful input I have received along the way – invaluable! I have gone from being a middle-of-the pack finisher to qualifying for the HALF DISTANCE FULL DISTANCE World Championship in St George in my last race. 50+ and getting better. I can highly recommend Coach Steve and his plans.
I’ve trained and raced alongside Coach Steve for the past two years and he always brings a lighthearted sense of humour to sessions while at the same time being clearly dedicated to improving his own and others performance. His dedication to the sport of triathlon is second to none and since signing up to SMart Endurance Steve has been both helpful and professional and has provided me with a HALF DISTANCE training plan that suits my needs and experience. Easy to follow plan. I owe a great deal of gratitude to Coach Steve who was always there to answer any queries. Was surprised to see how the plan managed to have me peak right on race week. Likewise, i was pleased that the plan was solid enough to compensate for all the sessions I had to miss as life and health got into the way.
Steven has been coaching me this year and I’ve had a great season – completing the NS for the first time in 4 years, injury free. My performance has improved and he has delivered a quality personalised training and recovery program that allows me to maintain a healthy work, life AND training balance.Looking forward to working with Steven again next year.
With this time I became 4th in my AG (36 woman) AND I won a slot for the IMHALF DISTANCE WC in St. George End of October! What a great success
