I am unbelievably stoked. I am so happy about it. I wanted to knock close to 30mins but to smash it by 40mins is unreal. 6.51. I couldn't be happier.
Steve is a great coach and a great guy. I was coached for my first full distance race with him in Barcelona. A real coach that cares for his athletes. When I do another full distance race Steve will be my first port of call.
After initially signing up for a practical 70.3 plan, I then moved to his coaching. The tailored approach with constant feedback makes the whole process and delivers everything I want from training. You can see the improvements with each block but most importantly training is enjoyable. Coach Steve gets the balance between tough sessions and recovery just right so that training is consistent. Steve’s knowledge on all aspects of each discipline would make me highly recommend his plans & coaching.
I am about 1/2 way through my 44 week Ironman triathlon training program and I have been really enjoying it. I am new to triathlon and a number of year past my life as a football player so the program has provided both good structure and easy to follow workouts that have helped me already make a lot of great strides. I have had a few questions along the way and Coach Moody has always been quick to respond and given me personally tailored responses, to which I am thankful for. Unfortunately, with COVID my races have been postponed/cancelled, but I have no doubt that the plan will get me there once races are back on as the plan has already helped increased my speed and endurance across the board.
I’m 11 weeks into my 46 weeks Beginner Ironman plan. This is my first try at training for a triathlon. What I liked even before purchasing this plan is that I could write an email for coach Steve and get answers for all my concerns. At the time I was in ~4h marathon shape, had some past experience in cycling, and almost no experience in swimming, so we decided that a Beginner plan will suit me the best. At first, it felt that running volume is really low and I’m detraining in my strongest triathlon discipline but in few weeks when cycling volume ramped up those thoughts disappeared. Actually, having less running and more cycling keeps me away from running injuries and I’m faster now than I ever was. I’m probably not in marathon shape anymore but there are 35 weeks of the plan left with plenty of 20+km long runs. Another thing that I liked is tests for HR zones for cycling and running. Finally! Finally, I’m training in zones that i feel are right. In the past, I’ve recalculated my zones using different approaches at least 5 times and they always felt off. Now I feel that I’m really training in the zone that workout prescribes. Swimming. I can’t really talk about that because I’ve only swum for the first few weeks of the plan then due to quarantine all pools were closed, I’ve switched to strength and mobility workouts instead. Last thing. Coach Steve quickly answers all my questions, e.g. what to do when the pool closes, what is the best approach to brick workout, and so on. Overall I feel confident that following this plan I will be an Ironman finisher.
Fantastic wknd despite dreadful forecast.Steve & Niall juggled things around to avoid the worst of the weather.Great to get out and do the bike course…Nice pace catered to all abilities.Unfortuately the weather didn't allow for much of a swim.. however it was great to get in the water regardless and get some landmarks and sighting tips.Great slide presentation and question answer by Steve. Overall a very enjoyable camp and well worth it for all the tips and insight from very experienced guys.
I used Smartendurancesolutions for my 1st full Ironman this year, I can’t recommend Smartendurancesolutions enough, Steven took me from very low levels of fitness to completing an Ironman in a time I had only dreamed of. There is great feedback on all sessions. It is easy to see all sessions have a purpose and tie into the overall plan. Heart-rate controlled sessions, which make it all easier on race day to stay on target in zone and in control. The added advantage of having a coach who is very experienced and accomplished long distance racer, is great for bringing a calming effect, for those times of pre-race panic
For me, a triathlon coach is somebody who not only produces training plans and feedback, but one who encourages one to be your best, to reach your true potential, and treats you equally no matter where you are at in the sport be it a beginner or category 1 triathlete. Steven Moody, definitely ticks those boxes. It has been such a great 11 months, that the journey will continue into 2019 to achieve some more goals!
Happy return to racing yesterday at the Nottingham Outlaw Half!
5 weeks ago I was seriously doubting my ability to finish, and started looking ahead to my A race – Weymouth 70.3 in September. With a little help from Smart Endurance Solutions in adapting a newly purchased plan (for Weymouth) in order to get me to the start line yesterday I managed to surpass my expectations of the day and finished the half marathon super strong! Thanks Coach Steve 👍
Started with Steve on September 2018, training for Triathlon. I have seen tremendous improvements on my time and physical condition. Training are well designed and well monitored by Steve, how most of the times provides feedback to improve. Thank you!
I purchased the Beginner Ironman 22 week (50yrs+) plan that included email access to Coach. So far I am very pleased with this heart rate based plan. I was also pleased to see a training plan designed for my particular age group. This plan helps greatly to organize my weekly workouts. And if you have a Garmin Forerunner 935 watch, this plan can be synced to Garmin app which makes it even simpler to keep track! Join the Facebook group to get your questions answered is an awesome feature!
Steve has helped reeducate me with the benefits of technology hoping to PB in Switzerland this year. Great coach and always there to help 5/5
