I have done 2 Ironman races and both occasions I have used Ironman training plans from Coach Steve.
His plans are well thought out and are crafted to fit into the hectic schedule of family life while at the same time getting you fit and ready to take on the race. I found Coach Steve very obliging and helpful whenever I had questions or just needed a little encouragement.
The biggest compliment I can pay is that I’ll be back to him when planning another Ironman.
I'm loving the plan so far!!!
Really impressed with the training so far. I bought my 70.3 Intermediate plan for my upcoming 70.3 (NC) and I have to say, I’m impressed.
In 14 weeks I have raised my FTP from 198 to 243, I have improved my Time Trail Swimming from 2:10 to 1:42 and all because I have followed as close as possible (with life commitments) the plan from Coach Steve.
He does know what he is talking, he is super approachable and you can ask questions when in doubt, ask for guidance. He is great!
Excellent person and professional coach, always available to the needs of athletes, at any time of the day. Well structured and easy to follow workout.
Completed the Ironman training camp last weekend in Youghal with Steve and would highly recommend! Great info and course specific knowledge learned during the camp. If thinking of doing an Ironman would recommend Steve’s training camp. Thanks again see you in August! Dave
Coach Steve is awesome. If you are reading this review because you consider buying one of his plans then stop reading and just buy it now. And if you doubt which plan is right for you, just send him an email to ask for advice. I used his 36 weeks Beginners plan to train for my first Ironman, and everything went as smooth as can be. I got to the start line strong and confident, and to the finish line happy and still strong after a great run.
Not enough space here for the praise he deserves!
I’m really enjoying this training plan. It’s my first time using training peaks and the accountability is incredible as well as the benefits of not having to think about a training routine for the week. Plus all the data!!!
Got an excellent (beginners) IM program off (Coach Steve) via Training Peaks: Easy to follow prescriptions for endurance, threshold, and higher intensity sessions across all three disciplines. It’s got comprehensive instructions for swim drills, stretching for before/after the bike, and how much (by duration) S+C work to thrown into the plan which is really useful as a novice.
The plan progressively banks up fitness and strength over the months – I can see my fitness improving gradually week on week and the built-in step-back weeks are helping stave off injury and fatigue. The plan has taken the guess-work out of my training so I’m getting consistently stronger and faster.
A GREAT investment and better value for $ than any of the tri gear/gadgets I’ve bought! Experience counts.

Very happy with the program so far and will definitely benefit from the structured swim sessions
Thanks to your plan, I finished Kona last October as a first timer. Definitely made some mistakes but didn't need the Med Tent at the finish.
I have followed your training plan of Marathon most of the time. It has proven effective to enhance my endurance. Thanks for this!
Really enjoyable weekend to get familiar with the IM Cork course. Lots of great advice and tips from coach Steve in both formal presentation and informal format while out on the course. Would highly recommend especially for those new to Ironman.
