Hello Coach Steve – I wanted to email you and tell you I really enjoyed your triathlon-specific strength and conditioning plan – I already feel stronger on the bike and run … as soon as I am able to swim – hoping to see benefits there too – it is a good plan – Gracias
Currently, training using coach Steve’s beginner plan, I am founding his plan great and in line with my expectations and my time availability, also coach Steve was super helpful and responsive when answering queries. Highly recommended and if I am going to survive my first Ironman 70.3 will be down to his training plans.
I jumped into triathlon after not having done hardly any exercise for over a decade. I did a sprint to see if this was something I liked and I did. I signed up for a IM70.3 and immediately bought Steve's 70.3 plan. I quickly saw progress with his extremely well structured plan and finished feeling great. Had it not been for Steve's plan I would have struggled to train and definitely would not have been able to finish like I did. I'm buying his IM plan and continuing on to the next level. Thanks!
I completed my first 70.3 this week. Thank you so much for the beginner training plan! The event was a blast, and I surprisingly completed/finished feeling strong. I was actually amazed that I was not tired during the run and I owe a lot of that to your plan. I am already browsing what other plans you have out there!
Hi Coach Steve – just to let you know I nailed my first sprint triathlon last weekend with the help of your beginner plan (and the last minute email from you reassuring me I could do it!) – thanks so much for your help – going to enjoy off season now …. but maybe Olympic distance next year? 😉
I first contacted Steve in 2019 for some coaching and remember phoning him for an initial chat to scope out my options. He insisted that he should come around in person, for a kick start meeting. I was immediately impressed with his enthusiasm and passion for what he does. Since then, I've managed to complete my first full ironman last year and am currently following one of Steve's intermediate IM programs to prepare for Cork IM. I would have no problem recommending him anyone.
Thanks Steve
Just completed the 70.3 and Ironman Cork training weekend. An excellent course with good information on how an ironman event works, what to expect on the day and nutritional info. Also guided swim plus guided cycle of the full 90km route and run route. Would definitely recommend for any ironman newbies or anyone wishing a race reckkie
I can’t say enough about how great Coach Steve’s PB Hit squad is! I had been training on my own using his 70.3 and OLY plans for 2 yrs prior to joining the squad and I wish I had joined earlier because
1 I gained a lot of better insight into how proper testing really impacts training.
2 I didn’t realize how much I was adjusting the plan & hurting my training when on my own
3 The topics covered in the zooms were insightful and Q&A helped me talk through scenarios that worried me
Thanks CS!!
I emailed Steve prior to purchasing the training plan and he responded quickly with really sensible advice based on my triathlon history and current training volume. Of course being an 45 going on 12 year old age grouper I ignored all sensible advice an purchased the only plan that gives me any remote, long shot of getting to Kona….I’ve just finished my first month of the base phase and despite pushing through a couple of those weird one-day training head-colds due to the increased volume, I’ve loved every minute so far.
Having read and enjoyed Friel’s Training Bible I was still left with just a big empty spreadsheet and too many decisions to make for myself. I’m a normal bloke for god’s sake, tell me what to do or I’ll just sit and watch the Discovery Channel!
Steve’s plan takes away all the science, mathematics and preparation that a triathlete with a full-time job just doesn’t have time for. Once the testing phase is done, each session is is concisely described, training zones set and drills presented via video links etc. where appropriate. For bike sessions I don’t need to know any more than I have a bike session today, once I fire up Zwift, some black-magic means Steve’s session is already there in front of me and ERG means I’m training at exactly the prescribed power throughout, brilliant!
Moving sessions around the plan to fit in with other work commitments is easy and intuitive and for some reason I’m actually motivated to stretch for the first time in 25 years because it’s on the plan. Well I say stretch, think Uma Thurman in Kill Bill trying to wiggle her big toe, but hey, I’m trying.
In all seriousness, having debated throwing a few quid at a properly structured, proven plan for the price of a decent pair of runners, I now couldn’t recommend highly enough. Absolutely fantastic value for money
Thank you sooo much for the 70.3 plan!!! It was perfect. I questioned the taper weeks so so little to do but day before race my garmin actually said peaking. I was recovered and fresh. I PR’d my 70.3 on same course I did last year first week of December. Attached is photos from garmin for PR proof:). Thanks again. Love your plans.
As someone who needs structure to my training I found working with Steve invaluable. Constant feedback helped keep me focused and when I was unfortunate to pick up an injury we worked together to ensure training was back on track.
After self-coaching for a few years, I decided to put some purpose and organization into my Ironman training, signed up with a plan from Steve, and am very impressed with the layout and attention to detail in the plan. Steve also responds to questions quickly and addresses the issues immediately. I also have a shift pattern work schedule which he helped me figure out.
Highly recommend, if you want to step it up a level!”
