Hi Coach Steve – just to let you know I nailed my first sprint triathlon last weekend with the help of your beginner plan (and the last minute email from you reassuring me I could do it!) – thanks so much for your help – going to enjoy off season now …. but maybe Olympic distance next year? 😉
I used Smartendurancesolutions for my 1st full Ironman this year, I can’t recommend Smartendurancesolutions enough, Steven took me from very low levels of fitness to completing an Ironman in a time I had only dreamed of. There is great feedback on all sessions. It is easy to see all sessions have a purpose and tie into the overall plan. Heart-rate controlled sessions, which make it all easier on race day to stay on target in zone and in control. The added advantage of having a coach who is very experienced and accomplished long distance racer, is great for bringing a calming effect, for those times of pre-race panic
Having reached a plateau, it niggled that I hadn’t reached my full potential but felt it a bit pretentious engaging a coach as a middle-aged back of pack female. At initial meeting, Steve seemed just as interested in helping me reach my goals as somebody trying to get to Kona. Rapid feedback after each session means that I have had almost 100% consistency in training & the constant cycle of session & feedback has ingrained good habits. To my delight, mid-50s, I’m now stronger, fitter & faster
Thanks Steve, what and awesome day!! Never would have got to the start let alone crossed the line as an Ironman. Hope your day was good 👍 looks like all the guys smashed it 💪
I’m a few weeks into your 44-week advanced training program and I’m really enjoying all of the training sessions.
I jumped into triathlon after not having done hardly any exercise for over a decade. I did a sprint to see if this was something I liked and I did. I signed up for a IM70.3 and immediately bought Steve's 70.3 plan. I quickly saw progress with his extremely well structured plan and finished feeling great. Had it not been for Steve's plan I would have struggled to train and definitely would not have been able to finish like I did. I'm buying his IM plan and continuing on to the next level. Thanks!
Coach Steve's plan is very easy to follow and is just the right balance for someone looking to get back into training after a long hiatus! He is very quick to respond and is very helpful. 5 + STARS!!!
Fantastic wknd despite dreadful forecast.Steve & Niall juggled things around to avoid the worst of the weather.Great to get out and do the bike course…Nice pace catered to all abilities.Unfortuately the weather didn't allow for much of a swim.. however it was great to get in the water regardless and get some landmarks and sighting tips.Great slide presentation and question answer by Steve. Overall a very enjoyable camp and well worth it for all the tips and insight from very experienced guys.
If you do what this coach tells you, I promise you you will go further, faster and feel better than you did before.
I have previously achieved significant improvements and PBs at 70.3 and full IM. This year I have returned to the Boss and in a very short time I am seeing benefits. I feel motivated to train, and I can’t wait to see what my race results are going to be.
I don’t think the guy can actually sleep because he always seems to be available
Hello Coach Steve,
I am delighted to inform that I crossed the 70.3 Weymouth finish line in my personal best of 7 hrs 21 mins and 11 seconds.
I am really happy with the result, your training plan helped. All in all, a very satisfying result. And also a demonstration that I can push more and look to bring that time to sub 7.
Using Coach Moody’s 40-week intermediate Ironman plan, my goals were to: 1) Finish; 2) Not permanently injure myself or die; 3) to not be last; and to hopefully beat 14 hours. All goals achieved. With Coach’s plan, I was able to accomplish something I never thought I could achieve. Total time 13:28
I appreciate your program. I felt like your training worked really well for me as well as how you set things up in Training Peaks, it was great to have trust in the HR zones and see the progression. The last Triathlon I did was in 2012, California 70.3 which I finished in 5:40. A decade later, I finished Florida 70.3 in 5:32, a new PR!
