Returning to triathlon after a 20 year gap, I found Smart Endurance Solutions & Coach Steve Moody on Training Peaks. Three months on, I can say what a very positive difference it has made.
The precious time and energy I am spending in training is more efficiently used and i've been particularly taken with Coach Steve's "PB Hit Squad" – a hybrid coaching/support group where I'm learning new skills, swapping stories with other triathletes and asking specific questions about my plan.
I made it. 💪 This was my very first triathlon and I did a full one right away: the Ironman in Hamburg. I couldn’t have done it without your training plan. It gave me a lot of nice insights and helping to stay on course during all those months. So thank you so much.
Just writing a short post to say thanks Steve for your training plan for my first HALF DISTANCE which was Outlaw Bowood. You patiently entertained many of my e-mails in the beginning when I was unsure about beginner or intermediate and helped me go for latter. Glad I did!
So today came in with a 6:12 time which considering on the run little of it is flat I was delighted with.
Thank you!!
I booked in with Seve who helped me with my training plan for Ironman VC in Spain, after doing the event it was clear all the advice was spot on even down to the layout of the course.
Steve is fair and and frank with what to do and it helps with all the noise online.
Thank you again!
Knocked out my first HALF DISTANCE this morning. Came in a little over 10 minutes under my goal of 5:30. Next to the training plan, Coach Steve’s webinar on nutrition and fueling was the most helpful tool for me. Couldn’t have had a better day thanks to all the tools and info available.
Really clear plan to get me to my first 70.3. Everything made sense with a very well structured approach for a beginner which avoided any over training. Excellent detail on execution of each session. Steven was also able to advise when I had an injury and needed to switch out running for 8 weeks. Consistency pays, good knowledge is invaluable. Highly recommend
Thanks for the support on Saturday Coach. Was an epic experience!!
Race went beter than expected, swim pace was higher than planned (think it was with the tide though) and the bike splits were solid and managed a sub 3 hr ride while keeping the HR sensible. Run started ok, hoping to find my legs towards the end, but didn’t. Still happy with my time of 5:32. Glad I followed your advice and tips!!
PR’d. Great program! Thanks!
Steven was so responsive and very encouraging. He also has a vast repertoire of YouTube videos to augment his program with great examples and tips. The value in his training program is both its effectiveness and its price. I’ve signed up for two other plans as a result of such a great experience.
I love Steve’s triathlon training plan. It is well structured plan, offering instruction and tips in the swim, bike and run. However, I found that the best part is the support during the plan that I received by Steve. Always ready to answer any questions…
I emailed Steve prior to purchasing the training plan and he responded quickly with really sensible advice based on my triathlon history and current training volume. Of course being an 45 going on 12 year old age grouper I ignored all sensible advice an purchased the only plan that gives me any remote, long shot of getting to Kona….I’ve just finished my first month of the base phase and despite pushing through a couple of those weird one-day training head-colds due to the increased volume, I’ve loved every minute so far.
Having read and enjoyed Friel’s Training Bible I was still left with just a big empty spreadsheet and too many decisions to make for myself. I’m a normal bloke for god’s sake, tell me what to do or I’ll just sit and watch the Discovery Channel!
Steve’s plan takes away all the science, mathematics and preparation that a triathlete with a full-time job just doesn’t have time for. Once the testing phase is done, each session is is concisely described, training zones set and drills presented via video links etc. where appropriate. For bike sessions I don’t need to know any more than I have a bike session today, once I fire up Zwift, some black-magic means Steve’s session is already there in front of me and ERG means I’m training at exactly the prescribed power throughout, brilliant!
Moving sessions around the plan to fit in with other work commitments is easy and intuitive and for some reason I’m actually motivated to stretch for the first time in 25 years because it’s on the plan. Well I say stretch, think Uma Thurman in Kill Bill trying to wiggle her big toe, but hey, I’m trying.
In all seriousness, having debated throwing a few quid at a properly structured, proven plan for the price of a decent pair of runners, I now couldn’t recommend highly enough. Absolutely fantastic value for money
I thoroughly enjoyed the IM plan you developed for 50+ Athletes. I made it through the entire program with zero injuries. This combined with the use of Fulgaz, really prepared me well for IM Tulsa.
Extremely happy with a 14:34:01 for my first IM finish!!! From powerlifting 10 years ago to FULL DISTANCE today!😊
Can’t thank you enough!
