After self-coaching for a few years, I decided to put some purpose and organization into my FULL DISTANCE training, signed up with a plan from Steve, and am very impressed with the layout and attention to detail in the plan. Steve also responds to questions quickly and addresses the issues immediately. I also have a shift pattern work schedule which he helped me figure out.
Highly recommend, if you want to step it up a level!”
I purchased a 16-week marathon training
program from you with the intention of running the Cork city marathon.
Sad as I was that the race was canceled a few weeks into training I
decided to keep going with the intention of running the marathon
the distance on the day of the race regardless.
I decided to run a marathon a week early on Sunday just passed. Having
never ran a marathon I wasn’t sure what time I would be able to achieve
and set a goal of sub 3:15. Feeling good on the day I pushed on and
finished in a time of 3:06:35.
I followed your program never missing a session other than having to
cut a week out towards the end. I found it extremely helpful and
informative and would never have achieved my time or managed to stay
injury-free without it. I would certainly recommend you to others and
hopefully will use more programs from you in the future.”
My Kona Qualification is a joint achievement by me working with Coach Steve. He took a chance on me almost 4 years ago when the only thing going for me was relentless consistency. I thought he would tell me what to do, to “train smarter” and if I did it to the letter, I would improve. What actually happened was much more collaborative, with us both listening to the other and sharing decisions together, modifying the plan as required, truly the difference between training and coaching
This year I had a successful season thanks to the corona virus. I was even 3rd at the Czech FULL DISTANCE Championships and I improved my maximum
I am fortunate to call Steve my coach for the past four years. He invests 100% in the process and is extremely dedicated to all of his athletes. What sets Steve apart is the value he brings to the process, with regular insights, tips and recommendations tailored to meet your training needs and race goals. Steve's tailored training plan ensured I completed my first marathon in 2:53 and maiden FULL DISTANCE in 10:32. In addition, my times have improved each year, not bad for a man in his early 40's.
I bought the 24 week Olympic training plan and it has exceeded my expectations.
Not only are the workouts clearly defined in Training Peaks with usefully notes, but the additional support via email has been excellent. Any issue or concern I had was quickly responded to with a helpful answer.
I bought the plan with hopes of a PB and ended up knocking 10% off my overall time 🙂
Following a great training plan from smart endurance solutions, had a few queries about it and were answered extremely quickly and concisely with a friendly manner, highly recommended!!
Gearing up for my first HALF DISTANCE in Feb and am enjoying Steve’s program. Very easy to understand and follow and he’s happy to chip in and give in some guidance along the way too! Money well spent.
I started with SM by buying a HALF DISTANCE plan in Feb/22. I live in a rural area so few in person coaching options in my area. The plan worked so well for me that I joined the PBhitsquad which is a great way to feel connected with athletes from around the world. Coach Steve and Mark also provide insightful and helpful sessions covering all things Tri. I have since engaged Coach Steve for 1-2-1 coaching he keeps me focused, and is always encouraging. He has helped me finish two HALF DISTANCE this year. Thx
I'm doing my 5th full IM this year – IMCA and chose Coach Steve's plan as I liked the longer duration and the 50+ training plan – 2 weeks hard, 1 lighter week. I had a complication tho as I'm doing the St George HALF DISTANCE WC in mid Sept then have 2.5 weeks of travel between St George and IMCA. Coach Steve came up with a revised plan that allowed for my race, recovery, travel and then enough key workouts to be ready for IMCA.
A great job, very responsive and I highly recommend him as a Coach!
The structure is the game changer. I started with a decent level of fitness but absolutely no clue on how to advance. The personal program with excellent feedback from Steve all ultimately made me a sub 3 marathoner. Can't recommend enough and as a bonus, Steve is just a nice guy. Genuinely one of the best coaches in the country now and his accolades speak to that.
Grabbed a nice age group win in my first tri of the season yesterday – helped of course by your training plan! 🙂
