After 4 attempts I finally broke my goal time for a marathon and QUALIFIED for Boston! All down to your plan … so delighted – thank you Coach Steve
I’ve just finished an excellent 70.3 training weekend in Youghal with Steve and Mark.
They took us round the course (including the infamous Windmill Hill!!!) and gave us lots of advice on the course itself, training, nutrition etc .
At best I’m average and I’ll admit I was a bit anxious that the weekend might have been too fast and more for stronger athletes but I was thankfully wrong- we divided into groups and worked together and it was great. And really good fun!!!!!
Bring on the bling!! Huge thanks to Steve and Smartendurancesolutions – your plans and insight have not only kept me injury free this winter but built an aerobic base which has seen me set 3 5k pb (Winning our club handicap competition) and also complete a marathon without feeling like death at the end!! Next up – Ironman Italy!!
I have your full-distance plan (24 weeks) and I love it, a big fan!
I completed Ironman 70.3 Muncie this past weekend. It was a big success (for me) my first completion under my belt.
Sorry for delay in posting but just wanted to say a few weeks back I smashed my PB with your intermediate marathon plan – found the race pace sessions had me so dialled in for execution on the day – so will be looking for a new plan for Boston! Thanks Coach Steve
I'm doing my 5th full IM this year – IMCA and chose Coach Steve's plan as I liked the longer duration and the 50+ training plan – 2 weeks hard, 1 lighter week. I had a complication tho as I'm doing the St George 70.3 WC in mid Sept then have 2.5 weeks of travel between St George and IMCA. Coach Steve came up with a revised plan that allowed for my race, recovery, travel and then enough key workouts to be ready for IMCA.
A great job, very responsive and I highly recommend him as a Coach!
I really enjoyed your beginner 36 week full IM plan for my prep for IM Florida this past weekend.
I’m writing this review as a 3-day old IRONMAN. And I did it with the help of a “46 weeks Beginner Ironman plan”. Before starting the plan I had done sub 4h marathon but I had zero racing or even training experience in swimming and biking. When I was choosing my plan I wrote for several online couches with my questions and I liked Steve’s answers the most. I didn’t regret choosing his plan a single time. Steve answered all the questions that I had during the training, he also adjusted the plan to fit my race day(my race was almost a month earlier than I have planned). The training plan wasn’t easy but what else can you expect when training for Ironman? Be prepared that weekends will be tough but they will make YOU tough as well. I was confident before the race that I will finish it. Thank you, Steve, for making my dream come true!
70.3 done! And an age group podium to boot (which got bumped up to 2nd in the official results!!!)
The balance of training that allows me to run that fast (for me) off the bike seems like a mystic art!!
Thanks CS
Couldn't be happier with my IRONMAN training plan. Very easy to follow from a beginner's point of view
I just wanted to let you know my training has been going great so far and I’m shocked at what I’m able to accomplish with this training plan
