Incredibly happy with these results. This is probably the first time I’ve ever completed an actual program for a specific event and it was a great experience.
Coach Steve does an incredible job of dialed in training to your specific needs. I am pleased with the program which has enabled me to prepare for my first 70.3. The knowledge that Coach Steve shared has made this process a great experience along with positive motivation/confidence building. What an experience it was to finish my first Ironman. With the help of Coach Steve and his program, I crossed the line in 9 hours 36 minutes . Trust the process and perform on race day.
What’s next ?
I’m excited to report with the help of Coach Steve’s 70.3 14 week, Intermediate level HR based training plan, I was able to finish my 70.3 race debut in 5:29 which was 30 MINUTES faster than my goal! I am thrilled with my results and can’t thank Coach Steve enough for his advice and wonderful (and very affordable) training plans! Can’t wait for the next race!
This plan was perfect for what I needed to train for USAT sprint Nationals. I felt fully prepared to race well, which helped me not be nervous. Not a PR only because this course had more climbing then what I normally do for a sprint but overall I hit most of my goals, had fun, and looking forward to the next one using the same plan. I used Smartendurancesolutions for my 1st full Ironman this year, I can’t recommend Smartendurancesolutions enough, Steven took me from very low levels of fitness to completing an Ironman in a time I had only dreamed of. There is great feedback on all sessions. It is easy to see all sessions have a purpose and tie into the overall plan. Heart-rate controlled sessions, which make it all easier on race day to stay on target in zone and in control. The added advantage of having a coach who is very experienced and accomplished long distance racer, is great for bringing a calming effect, for those times of pre-race panic
I started this program having never ran over 6 miles, longest bike was 30 miles. And no swimming. I lagged behind on the swim and running. My fault of course. I enjoyed having the structure of the workouts. I emailed the coach a few times and they are fast to answer any questions! The runs and bikes loaded into Garmin watch. Completed my first Olympic Tri. Would recommend these workouts plans.
I recently bought a program from Steve through training peaks to start my training with the goal of finishing my first ironman this coming October. Coach Steve is awesome. If you are reading this review because you consider buying one of his plans then stop reading and just buy it now. And if you doubt which plan is right for you, just send him an email to ask for advice. I used his 36 weeks Beginners plan to train for my first Ironman, and everything went as smooth as can be. I got to the start line strong and confident, and to the finish line happy and still strong after a great run.

Coach Steve Moody is a great Ironman Triathlon coach on Training Peaks. He is extremely accessible on email when I’m struggling. He takes the time to respond and adjust my workouts. I really appreciate the way he has tailored a training plan, especially for 50+-year-old athletes. Another thing that has helped me is the fact that Coach Steve has written a plan for 48 weeks compared to other plans that are only for 36 weeks or less. His plans use heart rate and power. I like how I can jump on my indoor bike and all I have to do is go to Zwift and Coach Steve’s Training Peaks workouts are automatically there for me! His plans are affordable, reusable, and effective.
